October Meeting and Show and Tell

October Meeting was full of announcements and events including a guest speaker. Karen Al-Kharouf spoke representing "Think Pink". She talked about the awareness of Breast Cancer in Qatar. She reported on the the Quilt our Guild donated last year. The man who won the raffle donated it back.

Tammy from the Charity Committee giving Karen a donation check for Breast Cancer raised 3600 QR with our Lucky Draw quilt.

Kathleen shared this wooden lazy susan that you can put your mat on and turn to cut.

Janet shared this June Tailor Ruler that has slots in it to make cutting strips a breeze.

Julia shared this special Ruler with removeable pieces to help with calculations and accurancy. See picture below for website.

September Meeting Start of a New Year

Alot of new things happening in our guild! Great time to be a member. Be sure to check out the newsletter for further details and meet the new board.
We have a Bernina Shop in town called Al Mushiri, two representatives came to show off all the styles they carry for purchase or service. One annoucement they made was that you can get your Bernina machine serviced for FREE the month of October, so be sure to take advantage of that! ( sorry the lighting is bad and I was having a hard time with my camera getting it right.)

May Quilt Meeting

The May meeting was exciting and the last meeting of the year. We enjoyed having a lucky draw for our "Think Pink" quilt, our Rag quilt challenge, usual show and tell and a nice pot luck after. The next meeting will be in September with a new Quilt Guild Board. Enjoy your summer off...see you in September.
